Applied GameDesign

My first games.
During the Applied Game Design minor we built our own games in fast sprints of 4 to 5 weeks — first entirely alone, then in teams of four. I felt fairly confident on the technical side by then, so my goal was primarily to practise the visual aspect.

PSX style & atmosphere
With a tight 4-week deadline, it was important to scope this project well. Using the PSX style as a starting point, you can create a strong atmosphere with relatively simple assets. This allowed us to produce a lot of content in a short time that reinforced the storyline.

More than 3D assets
In this project I discovered that assets go beyond just 3D models. Elements like lighting and post-processing are equally important. These components elevated this project to a higher level.
